➕ How to create a new survey campaign?
- ⚙️ Step 1 - Basic Settings
- 🎨 Step 2 - Designing the model and choosing the questions
- 👯 Step 3 - Selecting the participants
To create a survey campaign, go to 'Surveys > Campaigns' and click on '➕ New Campaign'.
⚙️ Step 1 - Basic Settings
At this step, there are two settings you will need to configure:
- the title of the campaign;
- whether it is anonymous or non-anonymous.
Regarding anonymity
- Results will only be accessible in the analysis view if there are at least 3 participants;
- If a filter is applied to the analysis view, results will be accessible if there are only 3 participants included in that filter;
- When exporting data from an anonymous survey campaign, any details that could help identify a participant will be concealed.
⚠️ Note: The anonymity setting cannot be changed once the campaign has been launched. It is therefore important to carefully select your preferences at this stage.
🎨 Step 2 - Designing the model and choosing the questions
At this stage, you will be able to specify the questions to be sent to the participants.
To add your first question, click the plus button ➕ in the middle of the block and choose the type of questions you want:
- Multiple scale;
- Net Promoter Score (NPS);
- Open-ended question;
- Single-choice question;
- Multiple-choice question.
There are several options available for these questions:
- you can delete them by clicking the trash icon 🗑️;
- you can duplicate them by clicking the double page icon 📃:
- you can rearrange them by clicking and moving the double line at the top of the question block (drag and drop).
💡 Note: You can click 'Preview' at any time to see how your survey will be presented to participants.
Notes regarding questions
All questions have a title (limited to 400 characters) and a description (no character limit).
Multiple scale
For this type of question, you will need to set:
- A minimum value (0 or 1);
- A label specifying what this minimum value represents (maximum 100 characters) - For example, "Not at all";
- A maximum value (from 3 to 10).
- A label specifying what this maximum value represents (maximum 100 characters)- For example, "Absolutely".
You can activate a comment in addition to the question.
Net Promoter Score (NPS)
No specific settings for this question. By default, this scale ranges from 0 to 10, with promoters defined as those scoring 9 or 10, passives as those scoring 7 or 8, and all others classified as detractors.
You can activate a comment in addition to the question.
Open-ended question
This question consists of a title and a description only.
It is not possible to activate a comment, as the question format already allows for open-ended replies.
Single-choice question
For this question, you will need to specify the available options. You can define between 1 and 20 options, with a limit of up to 100 characters per title.
You can rearrange the options by dragging and dropping them, or delete them by clicking the trash icon 🗑️.
Multiple-choice question
It works like a single-choice question, but participants are allowed to select multiple answers.
👯 Step 3 - Selecting the participants
There are two different options for selecting participants:
- Manual selection, as for 1:1 interview campaigns, recommended for one-off campaigns with the usual filters available;
- Selection by exclusion,in which all but a few participants are selected. This option is recommended for recurring campaigns, as it automatically adds new participants. It is particularly suitable for the eNPS use case, which typically excludes management team members. Simply search for the name of the employee you wish to exclude, then click 'Exclude'. If you make a mistake, you can fix it later.
⌛️ Step 4 - Setting the survey frequency
There are two types of campaigns:
- one-off campaigns;
- recurring campaigns.
One-off campaigns
These campaigns are intended to be sent to participants only once. For example, to gather feedback after a corporate event.
They will be sent on the launch date specified during configuration and can only be completed within the designated period.
Recurring campaigns
These campaigns are intended for surveys that will be sent to participants on multiple occasions (typically more than once a year). A new period will be created at the specified frequency (except weekends; the launch will be postponed to the following Monday).
The recurring period can be set to:
- every X days;
- every X weeks, specifying the launch day (Monday, Thursday, etc.);
- every X months, specifying the launch day (the 1st of the month, the 15th of the month, etc.).
Example: If you choose 5 with a weekly recurrence, the campaign will be relaunched every 5 weeks.
⚠️ Note: Two simultaneous periods cannot be set for the same survey. This means that if the frequency is set to every two weeks, the period cannot be open for more than 13 days, so as to prevent overlaps.
🤓 Step 5 - Campaign summary
Here you can review the survey campaign settings at a glance, including:
- its title;
- its launch date;
- the number of included or excluded participants (depending on whether it is a recurring or one-off campaign);
- its frequency (if the campaign is recurring);
- the questions;
- whether the survey is anonymous or not.
If it is a one-off campaign to be launched today, you will need to click 'Launch campaign'.
If it is a one-off campaign with a delayed launch or a recurring campaign, you will need to click 'Schedule the campaign'.
